Join artist Nicole Parish for a 2-day “from life” painting workshop and build a stronger foundation in painting. Students will work with carefully collected and preserved insects from all over the world to improve their traditional painting skills and create a convincing, life-like insect piece.
Class Description:
The workshop will cover key concepts including light & shadow, shapes, values & edges, form & volume, color mixing, use of oil painting medium, brush control, studio practices, and proper use of materials. The technical instruction will be supplemented with brief lectures and demonstrations to learn Nicole’s painting process. Nicole will also assist students individually during the workshop.
Who:
Classes are open to all artists with beginning to advanced skills. The size of the group will be limited to 10 to optimize the learning experience, so register today!

2-day portrait drawing workshop taught by artist Nicole Parish focusing on building a stronger foundation in traditional portraiture. Students will work from a photo to create a convincing, lifelike portrait in charcoal. This workshop is open to artists of all skill levels interested in improving their ability in traditional charcoal drawing.
